GAPACC is piloting a three-fold “GAPACC 8 Card-Pack” initiative with the objectives:
- of raising awareness of our local artists
- as a fundraiser for GAPACC
- to assist artists in the promotion of their work
We will be printing in sets of 8 for our “GAPACC 8 Card-Pack” and are preparing packs available for this Holiday Season.
We are seeking high quality digital jpeg files between 600KB and 2MB (or the equivalent) by October 9th. Files and the following information can be emailed to gapacc@gmail.com
In your email, please include:
1) how you would like your name to appear
2) the title of each work
3) the year of creation
4) the medium (i.e. watercolour, egg tempera, graphite, mixed medium…)
5) If you are interested, you also have the opportunity to include a 50-word description about you, the artist, and/or your artwork. As well as your contact information, preferably an email or web address.
If selected you will receive an email proof of your card for proofing and approval. Once the cards are printed you will receive 10 complimentary cards, while the other 40 cards will be sold as part of the “GAPACC 8 Card-Pack”.
You are welcome to include up to 3 images to be considered; however, initially we will be choosing one per member. We are asking you for permission to print a limited run of 50 reproductions of each image that are submitted for this project and the right to post a low resolution version on the GAPACC website.
We will be looking for images that are visually appearing on the small 4.25 by 5.5 inch card and will reproduce well by digital printing methods. Please note there could be as much as an 8% colour shift. Graphic designer Ruth Young has volunteered to assist other board members in the process. To meet the Christmas print deadline we will be choosing the first set of 8 images by Friday, October 9th. And have a proof back to you by October 16th. We are hoping to continue printing new sets of “GAPACC 8 Card-Pack” so please feel free to continue sending your images.
The price we are considering for the “GAPACC 8 Card-Pack” on note cards and envelops is $15.
