GAPAAC with a new look

GAPACC has a new fresh image on the internet. Nick Johnson our new web page coordinator with the help of Ruth, Fenn and Kristen has been working hard at revamping the GAPACC web page.

After ten years of the same page presentation it was time to innovate and come up with a livelier look.

This is an interactive web site and we want artists to contribute actively with stories and photos. We want to see artists share their studio experiences and art shows. We want organizations to join in and publicize their events. Blogs and comments are there to be used by all. (more…)

There are two exciting exhibitions running this fall at Lyghtesome Gallery.

The 27th Annual Printmakers Exhibit and an unusual collaborative exhibition between Dawn MacNutt & Nancy Stevens titled “Looking Forward/Looking Back.”  Visit www.lyghtesome.ns.ca or click to read the entire article.

Antigonish Film Fest Logo For three days in October the air will be filled with compelling scenes and true stories when the Antigonish International Film Festival presents 47 outstanding documentaries from award-winning film directors. Topics include dreams, war, music, peacemakers, poetry and medicine, rivers, activism, grizzly bears, prisoners and prisons, Sable Island, forestry, soldiers- and many others. Over three days viewers will have a choice of films, all within a short walk. Attendance figures last year increased by seventy-five percent and another increase is predicted this year.

Local sponsors and advertisers have made all this possible. Because of them the low three- day pass price is $20 regular, $5 for students and unwaged. The special catered Mexican dinner Saturday night is only $15.
